Location
The villa is located in Campoverde which is a
residential village situated 8km inland at the southern edge of
the Costa Blanca on the border with the Costa Calida.
The
village
is 20 minutes drive from San Javier airport (Murcia) and 45 minutes
drive from Alicante airport. A car is necessary.

Campoverde is in an area of protected pine woodland
and is surrounded by orange and lemon groves. Within Campoverde
there are numerous and varied restaurants, bars and shops including
a bakery, newsagents, chemist, bank and supermarket, many of which
are within a short walk of the villa.
A 5 minute drive away is the town of Pilar de
la Horadada, which offers greater shopping potential and nearby
San Pedro has a street market every Monday.
Adjoining Campoverde is the spectacular Rio Seco
nature reserve, which offers good walks along the dry river bed
and through the gorges carved out by centuries of erosion. Near
Rio Seco is a sports area with tennis courts, basketball, football
and a large public swimming pool.

There are many excellent blue flag beaches along
the coast that are untouched by mass tourism, with the nearest
being less than 15 minute drive from the villa. Within 20 minutes
of the villa is the famous Mar Menor, which is Europe’s largest
salt water lagoon.
The shallow waters of the lagoon are only connected
to the open sea by a narrow inlet which means that in summer the
water temperature reaches 30 degrees C, making it a perfect natural
swimming pool and ideal for many watersports such as sailing, canoeing,
windsurfing and kite boarding. The mineral rich waters also have
a saline content of 50% and are scientifically recognised as being
therapeutic in the treatment of rheumatism, arthritis and many
other ailments. The mud is also believed by many to contain natural
healing properties, particularly for skin complaints and many visitors
and locals can be found having a mudbath to treat their ailments.
San Pedro del Pinatar is one of the main tourist
destinations along this stretch of coast and the beach area of
Lo Pagan offers many sea front bars and restaurants. The town has
a marina that provides fishing, scuba diving and sailing opportunities.
San Pedro also boasts the Salt Works Nature Reserve, which is a
unique Mediterranean coastal area. This is a great area for walking
and bird watching as flamingos and other migratory birds nest here
every year and use the reserve as a stopping place in their migrations
between Europe and Africa.

For the golfing enthusiast many golf courses
can be found in the area, with Villa Martin, Las Ramblas and Campomor
all being within 20 min drive of Campoverde. The renowned La Manga
PGA course is also only a 40 minute drive away.
Other nearby sporting opportunities include horse
riding, go carting and fishing and there is an aqua park at Torrevieja
less than 40 minute drive from the villa.
